Vera Bradley Baby. 2013-2014

I worked closely with the lead designer to develop new products to expand the baby girl collection. My responsibilities included:

  • researching trends and creating mood boards
  • creating graphic artwork and production print files
  • designing soft toys
  • designing packaging
  • creating technical drawings
  • prepping tech packs for release to vendors
  • communicating with vendors and factories
  • sampling new materials and product

Baby Girl - Winter 2013/Summer 2014

I initially worked with the Baby team researching trends, cataloguing materials and creating technical drawings. As I gained more experience in design for baby apparel and soft goods, I took on more responsibilities such as checking specs, packaging development, graphic design, and prepping files for release to vendors.

Baby Girl - Winter 2014

In anticipation of a Winter 2014 Baby Girl Collection, I developed items featuring a woodland creatures themed print with three versions: navy/white/yellow gender neutral version, a recolored pink/green/white girl version, and a blue/green/white boy version. Playful artwork was a big theme that season, so I designed graphic artwork concepts for screen printing. I also lead the toy development and designed the a new reindeer knit toy.

The Winter 2014 Vera Bradley Baby Collection did not move past the concept phase.

Baby Boy - Summer 2014

The first release for boys was a small whimsical collection featuring the Bayou Waves print.

I Illustrated a backpack for the boy’s bodysuit featuring the Bunny and Bear characters. This trompe l’oeil design was a fun way to tie in Vera Bradley’s core product - printed bags. Before the baby collection was discontinued, I began concepting some fish-themed print designs for a future season.
