Vera Bradley Stationery. 2012-2014

As Product Coordinator, I worked closely with the lead designers to develop products for the stationery collection. My role included:

  • researching trends and creating mood boards
  • brainstorming and sketching new product ideas
  • building mock-ups
  • manipulating pattern elements to create graphic design layouts
  • creating technical drawings and specs
  • prepping files for release to vendors
  • material cataloging

I also redesigned the stationery packaging, hang tags, and bellybands to call out materials used. One of my primary responsibilities as an intern was to research and source recycled and alternative papers; to ensure that the new paper would not detract from the printing and quality; and to work with the vendors to replace the paper being used.

Finally, I built a materials library, both physical and in an online FlexPLM database, for both the stationery and baby categories. I was responsible for developing and tracking all new materials and samples. I collaborated with the handbag materials team to ensure consistency across all platforms.

Vera Bradley for Tiny Prints. 2013

Parallel to the Vera Bradley Baby launch in 2013, Vera Bradley teamed up with Tiny Prints, an online personalized stationery company, to roll out a co-branded collection of baby shower invitations and birth announcements. I designed several concepts for the first launch; the invitations and birth announcements shown are available for purchase at http://www.tinyprints.com/verabradley/

(All prints are property of Vera Bradley Designs and Bunny & Bear illustrations are property of Joanie Hall, daughter of Barbara Bradley Baekgaard, co-founder of Vera Bradley.)
